Groundhog Day Redux

So this end of July, early August is roughly six months from February 2nd, and the team had a true Groundhog Day experience. First, on returning last PM, we were pleased to find that carrots and watermelon had gotten groundhog number one (this is after six weeks of fruitless trying, resulting in raccoons, possums and squirrels (all released locally) but no groundhog).

Then within the twenty four hours, this PM came groundhog number two, same diet, same humane release site about twenty-five miles away. Deja vu all over again.

So, theoretically, anything beyond an eight mile radius is too far for them to return. We shall see. Moreover, we are hoping that they will reconstitute their posse at the new location. One big happy family, however, not under the deck.

Stay tuned. In this twilight zone, there may be more. We shall see. The truth is out there!
